Quick documentation of my new piercings!
I wish I had more time to write. I've been crazed lately because I was planning on taking out a small loan, but it turned out that my parents are unable to cosign for it, which means I have to work my ass off waitressing and my classes are always demanding a million papers from me. ALAS! So that is ALL I've been up to for weeks.

But anyway! I haven't even been out to a bar or anything in well over a month, so I got myself a little present:

It looks better in person. I just couldn't get a good picture. I thought up the design myself. There is a bit of a placement issue-- like I didn't realize how crooked and randomly placed it would look when I turn my hand certain ways, but oh well I still like it. Also I'm going back to get it trimmed down once the swelling goes down, so it'll look less awkward after that.

The dude who did it has been piercing for a very long time, and even he was like "Oh man everyone come look at how cool this is!" and took a picture to hang in his studio.

I fear this entry might come off as all "oh man I'm SO HARDCORE" sounding and I feel kind of lame about it, but I am excited and wanted to share it. I haven't gotten a new piercing in so long, especially not an interesting one, and for some reason they always give me a great feeling of release and an excitement and happiness that lasts for a while afterwards.

Haha! Hey there.

I know that there's a good chance of rejection, and they don't have to last forever. I'll take good care of them and we'll see how that goes. They're actually not surface bars, though, they're straight tygon tubing. I opted for it because it's flexible, and the guy who I was talking about surface bars with was messing up his math a little which made me nervous. Measurements have to be exact with those. The flexibility of tygon is better for the wrist anyway I think.

Dermal anchoring can turn out super cute and I definitely want to try it! However, you have the luxury of living in (or is it near?) NYC where you can find piercers who have done it a bunch and have the jewelry. Dermal anchoring is so new and all that it's just not going to be possible in middle PA. Plus I kind of wanted to be pierced straight through to see how it felt.

Still! I might get dermal anchoring done in a month or so in Pittsburgh. Are you thinking of doing it too? Where on your body?

Phew! I wasn't gonna say anything until I saw these were tygon and not surface bars. I've seen three lovely girls end up with huge bubbly scars because they thought getting bars on high-traffic areas (arm, neck, back) was a good idea. Tygon's scarring potential is supposedly way lower since they're so flexy, so take care of them and I hope they will serve you well.
